This wasn't supposed to be an outfit post! Actually this wasn't supposed to be a post at all, but once again I felt like bragging about the mad skills of my talented photographer, while exposing my lack of modeling ability. Btw. Love the photoshopped one, so powerful!

On the other hand the outfit is as simple as it gets, black monochrome as usual, the kind of oversized uniform in which you can find me most of the time. Trying to slowly change that a bit with some new acquisitions, but I will talk about that later on! 

This post represents the beginning of a new category: beauty. Let me just warn you that I'm not really keen on it, but I do try my best. Therefore I came up with this simple manicure inspired by Bassike.

The truth is I rarely paint my nails, because I often ruin them at school, but somehow this manicure survived all kinds of paint. I started by painting my nails white (very important to let them dry completely), then used some stickers and a puncher to make the holes for the circles. Final step: press the stickers on your nails and paint the circle (I chose black). Let it dry, remove the sticker and you're done and ready to go!

While looking through some photos the other day, I found these ones from August. The first time I shot an outfit, not for the blog, but for a competition to win some Dr. Martens. I didn't win, but decided that I should start a blog, after all I have been in love with fashion and aesthetics since I can remember! Having said that, you sure understand that these photos are pretty especial to me, they represent a fresh new start. Why did I take so long to publish them? Simply because I didn't like them at first and since I was just starting I had absolutely no idea how to pose or face the camera. Quite a disaster I might say, but I still managed to rescue some of them to show you some minimalism in the woods! And yes, I still love the idea of shooting a structured, rational and geometric type of style in a natural, wild and idyllic place. Paradoxes.

Oh and I miss the times when my coat was as white as snow, new and fresh…

Editorials, editorials. I've always been fascinated by them in all kinds of fashion magazines, therefore I was more than happy when I found this blog and especially this editorial! As you know I'm not a big fan of bright colors, but I have to admit these colorful sets create a cool contrast and make the white monochromatic looks stand out. It's so fresh and light! Looking forward to taking some photos like these in the summer, although I won't be wearing those Alexander Wang gladiator sandals...hunf.

You will need:

• a beanie (I bought this one at H&M for only 3€)
• rubber mesh like the one you put under the carpets, so that they don't slip
• scissors 
• needle and thread

As I think you already know, I'm an art student, but this definition is pretty vague. I've been studying at Escola Artística de Soares dos Reis (feel free to google it) since my 10th grade. I'm now in my last year and it's kind of obvious that I chose textile art (what a surprise ahaha). My point is, it was during a class that I came across this odd material and decided I had to do something with it. Needless to say I was wearing my black beanie that day and BAM! idea. I ran downtown to buy some of this rubber mesh and ran to a shopping center to buy some sort of really cheap beanie for my experiment. 

Follow my steps:

1. Draw the outline of the beanie on the rubber.
2. Cut it (doesn't need to be perfect).
3. Fix the mesh on the beanie with some pins.
4. Sew it with some black thread (I had to sew it by hand, because it didn't work with my machine).
5. Cut the extra bits of rubber, if there are any.
6. Enjoy your new graphic beanie!

I'm leaving tomorrow for Lisbon for the day, so if you spot a beanie like this you'll know it's me!

Coincidence or not it's my 80th post and Lacoste's 80th anniversary this year. I couldn't imagine a better way to celebrate it than with this breathtaking collection. And yes, I'm the ultimate Felipe Oliveira Baptista's fan, therefore my opinion is far from being impartial. The nationalist part of me is more than proud of this portuguese talent, who is conquering the international fashion industry day by day (hopefully one day it will be me, hehe). 

Now back to this masterpiece, I can't get enough of the icy theme, monochromatic palette, minimalist silhouettes, the contrast between baggy and narrow, between round shoulders and straight trousers or pencil skirts. A modern take on cotton piqué, leather and latex working as a sheath of ice over the icy prints. Felipe proves us that he really is the king of color blocking, maxi prints, sporty and minimal aesthetics. He knows what's flattering and effortlessly chic.

9 photos. 9 lives I wish I had troughout this week! What a hell of a week. Sorry for not posting, but I had literally no time to photograph my looks uniforms. 5 days off, thank you Carnival for existing! Oh and thank you Nuno as well for the amazing photos you take all the time! And I must not forget my schools' architect, thank you sir for the minimalist building and the perfect backgrounds for the outfits. As a friend of mine said to me today "You must be the only one in this school, who actually likes our grey and hospital like facilities." Since I'm in a mood for thanking everything and everyone: thank you sun! I've missed you.

P.S.: I just found out my shirt is asymmetric, the worst thing is: it's not on purpose. Oh Zara...

Common sense: Stockholm has one of the best street styles in the world.  Another fact is Stockholm Fashion Week brings unexpected and great minimal surprises every season. Autumn/ Winter 13 wasn't an exception. I could mention other names besides Altewaisaome, like Hernández Cornet or Alice Fine or even Whyred, but this brand, whose  name I have no clue how to pronounce, completely enchanted me.

Two creative feminine masterminds, "an eclectic mix of Scandinavian simplicity and international high fashion", a search for clean lines, monochromatic looks, neutral colors, attention to detail and it's only their fourth collection. We should have high hopes for their future and warn Wang about his swedish competition, since the collection is inspired by New York's diversity and their aesthetic approach is similar.  

We have got to love the oversized silhouettes contrasting with slimmer trousers or skirts and the rich green and grey tones.

Once again a chic, minimal, wearable, sporty and modern collection, which you can easily recreate with your own basic pieces. This is what fashion should be all about.
